Falcons Sign S Charles Godfrey & TE Tony Moeaki, Cut TE Mickey Shuler

The Atlanta Falcons announced a number of roster moves on Tuesday including the addition of S Charles Godfrey and TE Tony Moeaki.

  • The Falcons released TE Mickey Shuler to make room for their new additions.

Moeaki, 26, is a former third-round of the Kansas City Chiefs back in 2010. Since then, he’s dealt with a number of injuries including knee operations and head injuries.

The Falcons signed him to a contract back in March, but he wound up being among their final roster cuts a month ago.

In 2014, Moeaki appeared in six games for Seattle and caught eight passes for 134 yards receiving and a touchdown. Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 206 total snaps last season.

Godfrey, 29, signed a one-year contract worth $1.5 million with the Falcons back in March, but he lasted just one week into the regular season before Atlanta released him.

In 2014, Godfrey appeared in 11 games and recorded 19 tackles. Pro Footbal Focus has him down for playing 212 snaps this season, but he also has a very poor rating in pass coverage.
