Former Dolphins CB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu officially passed through waivers unclaimed on Friday and is now a free agent.
Ekpre-Olomu was one of three roster cuts made by the Dolphins on Thursday including DE Mario Williams and DT Earl Mitchell.
Ekpre-Olomu, 23, was taken in theย seventh round of the 2015 NFL draft by the Browns. He spent his rookie season on the team’s non-football injury list, as he was working his way back from a serious knee injury he suffered during his senior year at Oregon.
Unfortunately, the Browns cut him loose shorter after last year’s draft and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Dolphins. Miami waived him with an injury designation during the preseason and he wound up reverting to their injured reserve list.
The Dolphins cut Ekpre-Olomu loose on Thursday.
During his four-year career at Oregon, Ekpre-Olomu recorded 244 tackles, 6.5 sacks, nine interceptions, and eight forced fumbles.
