The Detroit Lions held a workout for free agent DE Derek Landri on Tuesday.
โIt was good to get out here and run around, do all that stuff,โ said Landri, via the Detroit Free Press. โHavenโt done it in awhile.โ
The Buccaneers released Landri back in February, but he hasnโt found a lot of interest on the open market.
There is a connection between Detroit and Landri given that current Lions defensive coordinator, Jim Washburn, coached him while they were both in Philadelphia a few years ago.
Landri, 30, appeared in only 8 games this past season and finished the year with nine total tackles and a single sack.
If the Lions were to bring him in, he would likely have to compete with fourth-round pick Larry Webster and veteran Darryl Tapp for playing time.
