According to Adam Schefter, free-agent RB Jay Ajayi has been fully cleared to play by Dr. James Andrews in Florida.
Ajayi suffered a torn ACL last season in the final year of his contract with the Eagles. He has discussed a return to the Eagles and had a visit with the Colts this offseason.
Odds are Ajayi will have to sign a one-year, prove-it contract and try to reestablish some value in 2019.
Ajayi, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2015. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.5 million contract and made a base salary of $1.9 million for the 2018 season.
The Eagles acquired Ajayi in a trade with the Dolphins that sent a 2018 fourth-round pick to Miami.
Ajayi is testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
In 2018, Ajayi has appeared in four games for the Eagles and rushed for 184 yards on 45 carries (4.1 YPC) to go along with five receptions for 20 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
