Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Texans did not sign free agent Sย Aaron Williams following his recent visit.
According to Wilson, it’s “statusย quo at safety for now” in regards to the Texans.
Williams previously visited with the Jaguars a month ago but also left Jacksonville without a contract.
Ian Rapoportย previously reported that Williams is healthy and ready to play after some concerns about his NFL future, due to a serious neck injury he sustained.
Williams, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Bills back in 2011. He was entering the fourth year of his five-year, $26,077,844 million contract and set to make a base salary of $3.6 million for the 2017 season when the Bills released him in a move that freed up $1,775,000 of available cap spaceย back in March.
In 2016, Williams appeared in seven games and recorded 20 tackles, a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown and five pass defenses.
