The New York Giants officially placed LB Ryan Connelly on injured reserve on Monday and claimed DE Chris Peace off waivers from the Chargers.
Connelly, unfortunately, suffered a season-ending ACL tear on Sunday, so this move was expected.
Connelly, 23, was drafted by the Giants in the fifth round out of Wisconsin in the 2019 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year rookie deal worth $2.9 million and will make base salaries of $495,000 and $585,000 the next two seasons.
In 2019, Connelly appeared in four games for the Giants and recorded 20 total tackles, one sack, two interceptions and two pass defenses. He was Pro Football Focus’ 46th-ranked linebacker out of 77 qualifying players through Week 4.
