Giants Place S Landon Collins On IR, Promote S Kenny Ladler

The New York Giants announced Thursday that they’ve placed S Landon Collins on injured reserve and promoted practice squad S Kenny Ladler to their active roster.

  • The Giants also signed P Brock Miller to their practice squad.

Here’s the Giants updated practice squad:

  1. OLB Avery Moss
  2. WR Alonzo Russell
  3. OT Victor Salako
  4. RB Robert Martin
  5. OT Jylan Ware
  6. DB Ronald Zamort
  7. DE Myles Humphrey
  8. DB A.J. Howard
  9. TE Hakeem Valles
  10. P Brock Miller

Giants HC Pat Shurmur announced Wednesday that Collins likely needs season-ending shoulder surgery.

“Landon Collins has a shoulder injury that will most likely require surgery,” Collins said. “It’s not final yet. We’ve been getting it evaluated for the past couple of days.”

The Giants will likely place Collins on injured reserve in the coming days.

Collins actually came up as a potential trade candidate before the deadline, and given that he’s in the final year of his rookie deal, it’s possible he could be playing elsewhere in 2019.

However, the Giants do have their franchise tag available.

Collins, 24, is a former second-round pick of the Giants back in 2015. He is in the final year of his four-year, $6.12 million rookie contract that included $4.459 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $1,269,621 for the 2018 season.

In 2018, Collins appeared in 12 games for the Giants and recorded 96 tackles, a forced fumble and four pass defenses.

We have him featured in our Top 25 – 2019 NFL Free Agents list.
