The New York Giants have officially cut their roster down to 53 players ahead of today’s deadline.

• Giants placed linebacker Jonathan Anderson (knee), tackle (2019 seventh-round draft choice) George Asafo-Adjei (concussion), wide receiver Brittan Golden (calf), tight end Scott Simonson (ankle) and running back Rod Smith (adductor) on injured reserve.
• Giants placed WR Golden Tate on the suspended list.

Lauletta, 24, was selected by the Giants in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Richmond. He was entering the second year of his four-year, $3,167,700 rookie contract.

In 2018, Lauletta appeared in two games for New York and recorded five passing attempts but no completions.

During his four-year college career at Richmond, Lauletta threw for 10,465 yards while completing 63.5 percent of his passes to go along with 73 touchdowns and 35 interceptions over the course of 40 games. 

Jones, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Lions back in 2014. He played out the final year of his contract and re-signed with Detroit to a one-year deal last season. 

He finished out his contract with the Lions and signed a one-year deal with the Steelers back in April, but was cut loose soon after. Jones signed with the Giants during training camp.

In 2018, Jones appeared in 15 games and recorded 19 receptions for 190 yards and two touchdowns.
