The Giants announced they’ve signed TE Isaiah Searight and waived TE Eric Dungey in a corresponding move ahead of the start of training camp.
Per Ryan Dunleavy, Dungey was injured during OTA’s, which hurt his already slim chances of making the roster.
Dungey played quarterback at Syracuse last year and signed as an undrafted free agent for a potential Taysom Hill-type role for the Giants.
Searight wound up going undrafted out of Fordham in April. He agreed to a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Buccaneers.
Unfortunately, the Bucs waived Searight with an injury designation in May and he later reverted to their injured reserve list after clearing waivers. Tampa Bay later waived Searight with an injury settlement.
During his college career at Fordham, Searight caught 89 passes for 1,119 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns over the course of four seasons and 44 games played.
