Mary Kay Cabot is reporting on Twitter that Cleveland Browns head coach Pat Shurmur says Greg Little and Mohamed Massaquoi are the team’s “early starters” at wide receiver.
Little, drafted by the Browns in the second round last year, doesn’t appear to have real competition for his spot at the top of the depth chart. Meanwhile, Massaquoi has Travis Benjamin, drafted in the fourth round this year, to compete with.
Massaquoi caught more than three passes in a game just once in 2011, with six receptions in Week 4 against the Tennessee Titans. Overall, he had 31 catches for 384 yards and 2 touchdowns. Those figures will not guarantee him a starting spot at wideout.
