Jaguars Still Have No Plans To Cut WR Justin Blackmon Despite 3rd Arrest

Speaking to reporters Thursday, Jaguars owner Shad Khan mentioned that they haveย no plans to cut WR Justin Blackmon, despite being arrested for a third time Wednesday night, per Mark Long.

Blackmon was arrested inย Edmond, Oklahoma Wednesday night forย possession of marijuana.

According to the report, Blackmon was stopped for a traffic violation when officers smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the car. After searching the vehicle, theย police did in fact findย marijuana, which led toย Blackmon beingย taken into custody.

Blackmon isย alreadyย suspended indefinitely from the NFL, but the Jaguars have maintained that they are treating the former first-round pick as aย luxury moving forward. He could end up having a difficult time getting reinstated by the league, but that is still a ways away.

Jacksonville has at least prepared for the possibility that Blackmon won’t be back with them as they usedย two second-roundย picks on USC WRย Marquise Leeย and Penn State WRย Allen Robinsonย this year.

Blackmon appeared in only four games last season, registering 29 catches for 415 yards, with one touchdown.
