Jaguars Worked Out RB Khiry Robinson

According to NFL Draft Diamonds, the Jaguars worked out free agent RB Khiry Robinson on Friday.

Jacksonville elected to sign Jonathan Grimes to a contract yesterday, so it appears as though nothing is imminent with Robinson as of now.

Robinson tried out for the Jets a few months ago but wasn’t signed to a contract following the workout.

Robinson, 27, wound up signing on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of West Texas A&M back in 2013. He managed to make the team’s 53-man roster in all three years with the Saints.

The Jets ultimately signed him to a one-year, $1.175 million contract as a free agent last year. However, he was waived with an injury designation coming out of the preseason.

New York later signed him to a two-year, $1,950,000 deal and he was set to make a base salary of $775,000 in 2017 when the team cut him loose this past March.

In 2016, Robinson appeared in one game and ran for 22 yards on eight carries (2.8 YPC) and no touchdowns.
