The New York Jets announced Friday that former first-round CBย Dee Milliner will miss 6-8 weeks after he undergoes surgery on his wrist.
This is unfortunately news for Milliner, who has struggled to stay healthy since entering the league, and the Jets after they just lost Sย Antonio Allen for the season.
Milliner, 23, is entering the third year of his four-year, $12.66 million rookie contractย thatย included a $7.59 million signing bonus. He stands to make a base salary of $585,000 for the 2015 season and another $675,000 next year.
The Jets will obviously need to decide whether or not to pick up his fifth-year option next April.
In 2014,ย Milliner appeared in just three games for the Jets and recorded six tackles and two pass defenses after he sustained a season-endingย Achilles injury.
