Jets Claim WR Bruce Ellington Off Waivers From 49ers, Waive/Injured TE Brian Parker

Adam Schefter is reporting that the Jets have claimed WR Bruce Ellington off of waivers from the 49ers on Friday.

  • The Jets waived TE Brian Parker with an injury designation.

Ellington, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the 49ers back in 2014. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $2.694 million contract and set to make a base salary of $690,000 for the 2017 season.

Unfortunately, Ellington missed the entire 2016 season after he suffered a torn hamstring during the preseason and was later placed on injured reserve.

In 2015, Ellington appeared in 13 games and caught 13 passes for 153 yards receiving and no touchdowns. He also contributed 665 kick return yards and 137 punt return yards that year.
