Jets Close To Re-Signing DL Henry Anderson

Manish Mehta reports that the Jets believe that they are close to a deal to re-signing DL Henry Anderson.

The initial belief regarding Anderson was that the Jets were likely to move on, but that was before Gregg Williams announced that he’ll employ a 3-4 defense, which better fits Anderson’s skill set.

Anderson, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Colts back in 2015. He was later traded to the Jets last year for a seventh-round pick.

Anderson played out the final year of his four-year, $2,937,176 rookie contract and is now in line to be an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NFL career.

In 2018, Anderson appeared in all 16 games for the Jets and recorded 35 tackles, seven sacks and four pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 35 interior defender out of 112 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2019 NFL Free Agents list.
