Jets Designate RB Elijah McGuire To Return From IR

The New York Jets officially designated RBĀ Elijah McGuire as one of their two players to return from injured reserve on Wednesday.

This opens a three-week window of time for the Jets to officially add him to their 53-man roster.

McGuire, 24, is a former sixth-round pick of the Jets back in 2017. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $2.66 million contract and set to make a base salary of $555,000 for the 2018 season.

McGuire, unfortunately, suffered a broken foot this summer and was later placed on injured reserve.

In 2017, McGuire appeared in all 16 games for the Jets and rushed for 315 yards on 88 carries (3.6 YPC) to go along with 17 receptions for 177 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
