Jets DL Quinnen Williams was arrested at LaGuardia Airport Thursday night for carrying a gun, according to the New York Post.
Williams was attempting to depart New York when he was arrested for criminal possession of a weapon.
Williams had a permit for the weapon, but it was licensed in Alabama. The state of New York it’s generally only legal to carry a concealed weapon if it has a New York license.
I’s unclear if Williams is being accused of trying to take the gun on the plane.
Williams, 22, was selected by the Jets with the No. 3 overall pick out of Alabama in the 2019 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year, $32,529,380 rookie contract that includes $21,677,732 signing bonus.
Williams is set to make a base salary of $585,000 for the 2020 season. His contract also includes a fifth-year option for the Jets to potentially pick up.
In 2019, Williams appeared in 13 games for the Jets and recorded 28 tackles, 2.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and a pass defense.
