ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Jets have released NT Sione Pouha on Tuesday.
The Jets will free up $3.8 million in cap space by releasing Pouha, who just signed a three-year, $15 million contract last year. Pouha had a $4.9 million base salary coming his way that would have been fully guaranteed if he was still on their roster as of Friday.
Pouha, 34, was dealing with a back injury last year which resulted in limited production.
