Jets Rumors: Talks With Sione Pouha Picking Up & Wayne Hunter On The Trading Block

Sione Pouha

Rich Cimini of ESPN New York reports that the Jets have reportedly “accelerated” talks with NT Sione Pouha regarding a long-term extension that would prevent him from testing the open market.

The clock is ticking for Jets to get something in place but Cimini mentions that “there are strong indications they’ll get it done.

Pouha, 33, has been a solid force in the middle of their defensive line and losing him but have an immediate impact on the teams offseason strategy. It’s in their best interest to work something out but they’d be wise to not over-commit to him, if they can.

Wayne Hunter

The New York Daily News reports the Jets have been fielding offers for RT Wayne Hunter and supposedly been in talks with one NFC team.

Hunter is coming off of a pretty poor season for the Jets so it’s hard to say that they’ll find a ton of interest in him on the trade market. A team with a track record of developing offensive lineman could make a play for him but the asking price will certainly be the biggest obstacle in any such conversation.
