Jets HC Adam Gase announced Friday that Sam Darnold will return as the team’s starter for Sunday’s game.
Darnold has been sidelined with a shoulder injury since Week 8 with Joe Flacco filling in at quarterback for New York.
Not only will the Jets have Darnold back in action, but they will also have their top-three receivers available as well.
Darnold, 23, is a former first-round pick of the Jets back in 2018. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $30,370,490 contract with the Jets that included a $20,167,628 signing bonus.
The contract will also include a fifth-year option for the Jets to pick up in 2021.
In 2020, Darnold has appeared in six games for the Jets and completed 58.6 percent of his passes for 1,045 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions. He has also rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown.
