Jets Waive CB Josh Thomas & Promote S Rontez Miles

The New York Jets announced Tuesday that they placed CB Josh Thomas on waivers and signed S Rontez Miles off of their practice squad.

  • The Jets also signed LB Mario Harvey to their practice squad.

Thomas, 25, signed on with the Seahawks at the start of the 2014 season, but was released after a month with the team. Before that, he was with the Panthers, but was unfortunately among their final roster cuts as the trimmed their squad down to 53 players.

This season, Thomas appeared in four games and recorded two tackles and two passes defensed.

Miles, 26, signed on with the Jets back in April of last year as an undrafted free agent out of California University of Pennsylvania.

He was unable to make the team coming out of the preseason, but later signed to the team’s practice squad.

Miles appeared in one game for the Jets last season.
