Jets Waive DT Shaneil Jenkins From IR With Settlement

The New York Jets officially waived DT Shaneil Jenkins from injured reserve with a settlement on Wednesday.

Jenkins, 24, originally signed on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Shepherd back in 2016. He was waived during the preseason and later signed on with the Cowboys.

The Seahawks eventually signed him to their practice squad toward the end of the 2016 season before bringing him back on a future/reserve contract last year. Jenkins was later waived and claimed by the Packers but he was once again cut loose coming out of the preseason.

The Jets signed Jenkins to a contract a few weeks ago only to release him soon after with an injury designation.

Jenkins has yet to appear in an NFL game.
