Junior Galette Says He Has Three Offers On Table, Contemplating Retirement

Free agent DE/OLB Junior Galette mentioned on his Instagram account Sunday that he has three offers from NFL teams currently on the table, but he has been contemplating retirement, which is why he has yet to agree to anything.

The Raiders brought Galette in for a visit back in April but he wound up leaving without an agreement in place.

Before that, Redskins senior VP of player personnel Doug Williams said they informed Galette that they’re “going in another direction” at his position next season.

Chick Hernandez of NBC Sports Washington previously reported that the Redskins had withdrawn their offer to Galette, but several teams were still in play for him including the Browns and Rams.

Galette, 29, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Stillman back in 2010. The Saints later signed him to a massive four-year extension only to cut him loose less than a year into the new contract.

Galette signed on with the Redskins in 2015 but suffered multiple season-ending injuries. He’s testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

In 2017, Galette appeared in all 16 games for the Redskins and recorded 20 tackles, three sacks, a forced fumble and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 31 edge rusher out of 106 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
