Stephen F. Holder of the Tampa Bay Times believes that Buccaneers running back LeGarrette Blount “more than evened the score” with fellow tailback Doug Martin on Friday against the Miami Dolphins.
Blount had 7 carries for 30 yards and a touchdown, while rookie Martin had the same amount of carries for 21 yards and a score.
Martin was one of Tampa Bay’s two first-round draft picks, going thirty-first overall. The popular opinion is that Martin will get the starting job in the backfield, but Blount proved his worth on Friday.
