Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Chargers believe thereโs a “legitimate chance” that WR Keenan Allen (hip), RBs Melvin Gordon (knee) and Austin Ekeler (neck) will all return for Saturday’s game against the Ravens.
Gordon, 25, is a former first-round pick out of Wisconsin by the Chargers in the 2015 NFL Draft. He is entering the final year of his four-year $10.669 million rookie contract that is fully guaranteed and is set to earn a base salary of $1,889,967 for the 2018 season.
The Chargers picked up Gordon’s fifth-year option this past May worthย $5,605,000 for the 2019 season.
In 2018, Gordon has appeared in nine games for the Chargers and rushed for 802 yards on 153 carries (5.2 YPC) to go along with 44 receptions for 453 yards receiving and 13 total touchdowns.
Allen, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Chargers back in 2013. He’s in the third year of his five-year, $46.671 million contract that included $20 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $7.5 million and $8 million over the next two years.
In 2018, Allen has appeared in 14 games for the Chargers and caught 88 passes for 1,074 yards receiving and six touchdowns. He has also rushed for 75 yards on nine carries.
