Leinart Seeking His Own Trade

Len Pasquarelli of the Sports Xchange brings us the latest news regarding Matt Leinart possibly being traded. After the Cardinals received very limited interest in Leinart, the team has decided to allow Leinart to seek his own trade with a team of his choice.

The Cardinals areย obviouslyย done with Leinart and this seems as though it’s their last-ditch-effort to get some value for the former college standout. Seattle remains aย possibilityย if the Seahawks feel that Charlie Whitehurst is unable to run their offense once the Matt Hassellbeck era comes to an end.

Leinart is due to make $2.48 this year and Arizona will be forced to make a decision on what quarterback to let go if they are unsuccessful in trading him. The team currently has rookies Max Hall and John Skelton on the roster and theย likelihoodย of no one claiming them off of waivers seems impossible. Leinart could still be cut if deal is unable to be worked out in time.
