Lions Activate QB Matthew Strafford From COVID-19 List, Place CB Darryl Roberts On IR

The Detroit Lions have activated QB Matthew Stafford from the COVID-19 list on Saturday and placed CB Darryl Roberts on injured reserve.

The Lions also activated DE Austin Bryant from the PUP list and promoted OL Marcus Martin to their active roster. 

Stafford will play for the Lions on Sunday against the Vikings.

Stafford, 32, is a former first-round pick of the Lions back in 2009. He was in the final year of his five-year, $76.5 million contract when he and the Lions agreed to a five-year, $135 million extension back in 2017.

Stafford stands to make base salaries of $15 million and $9.5 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2020, Stafford has appeared in seven games for the Lions and completed 61.4 precent of his passes for 1,916 yards, 13 touchdowns and four interceptions.
