Lions Concerned That RB Jahvid Best May Never Play Again?

Anwar Richardson of MLive.com writes that “many within the (Lions’) organization” that RB Jahvid Best may never play in the NFL again.

Best has a very serious history of concussions and wound up missing a good portion of the 2011 season after suffering another one. Detroit chose to address their running back depth during last season’s draft by taking Mikel Leshoure out of Illinois but he was unfortunately lost for the season after tearing his Achilles tendon.

So far, the Lions have already met with a number of running back prospects during the Senior Bowl so there’s a good chance that they could be looking to take another one in this years draft as well. Detroit reportedly met with Boise State’s Doug Martin, Ohio State’s Dan Herron, and Washington’s Chris Polk earlier in the week.
