According to Tim Twentyman of detroitlions.com, the team has signed head coach “Jim Schwartz have agreed on a new multi-year contract extension.” Twentyman states that “the length of the contract and financial terms were unknown.”
Schwartz has been a key part in the Lions turnaround in the past three years, coaching the team that has improved every season during his time. Schwartz took over a team that had a 0-16 season before he was hired, and has coached them into a playoff team that had a record of 10-6.
