Lions owner Sheila Ford Hamp said after she made the decision to fire GM Bob Quinn and HC Matt Patricia that a search for their replacements would begin immediately.
“I’m going to work as hard as I can along with (team president) Rod (Wood) and we are going to make this an extremely thorough and comprehensive search,” Hamp said. “We’re going to do the very best we can.”
The Lions are among four teams with GM openings along with the Texans, Falcons and Jaguars. However, it’s possible there will be even more GM positions available after the season, so getting a head start on the process now makes sense.
Detroit will likely wait another few weeks before interviewing external candidates for the job.
Weโll have more regarding the Lions as the news is available.
