The Detroit Lionsย announced Wednesday that they’ve signed CB DeShawn Shead to a contract.
- Detroit also signed WR Keon Hatcher to their practice squad and released LB Alex Barrett from the unit.
The Lions’ practice squad now consists of:
- CB Mike Ford
- WR Chris Lacy
- QB Jake Rudock
- DT John Atkins
- CB CreโVon LeBlanc
- DE Eric Lee
- RB Donnel Pumphrey
- LB Trevor Bates
- C Leo Koloamatangi
- WR Keon Hatcher
Shead, 28, originally signed on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Portland State back in 2012. He returned to the Seahawks on a one-year exclusive rights contract for the 2016 season.
Last year, Seattle declined to tender him a contract as a restricted free agent but later brought him back on a one-year, $1.5 million contract.
Shead signed a one-year, $3.5 million contract with the Lions this past March, but was released coming out of the preseason.
In 2017, Shead appeared in two games for the Seahawks and recorded two tackles and no interceptions or pass defenses.
