The Detroit Lions announced Wednesday that they’ve signed RB David Williams to their practice squad and released QB Chad Kanoff from the unit.
Hereโs the Lions updated practice squad:
- DT John Atkins
- WR Tom Kennedy
- LB Steve Longa
- TE Isaac Nauta
- T Matt Nelson
- LB Anthony Pittman
- DE Jonathan Wynn
- LB Jason Cabinda
- WR Marvin Hall
- RB David Williams
Kanoff, 24, wound up signing on with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Princeton back in May of last year. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract with the Cardinals, but was waived coming out of the preseason.
The Cardinals later signed Kanoff to their practice squad before promoted him in November. Arizona brought him back on a futures contract only to cut him loose a few weeks ago.
The Lions signed Kanoff to a contract leading up to their Week 1 matchup with the Cardinals.
During his college career at Princeton, Kanoff threw for 7,510 yards while completing 64.5 percent of his passes to go along with 43 touchdowns and 22 interceptions over the course of 34 games. He also rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown.
