Lions Sign Three To Practice Squad, Cut Three


The Detroit Lions announced Wednesday that they’ve signed LB Trevor Bates, C Leo Koloamatangi and RB Donnel Pumphrey to their practice squad and released S Rolan Milligan, LB Darnell Sankey and OT Dan Skipper from the unit.

Pumphrey, 23, was taken in the fourth-round of the 2017 NFL draft. He signed a four-year, $2.97 million contract with the Eagles and was set to make a base salary of $555,000 for the 2018 season when the Eagles waived him last week.

Pumphrey was placed on the Eagles’ injured reserve in September of last year due to a hamstring injury and missed all of 2017. He has yet to appear in an NFL game.

During his four years at San Diego State, Pumphrey rushed for 6,405 yards on 1,059 attempts (6.0 YPC) and 62 touchdowns. He also caught 99 receptions for 1,039 yards receiving and five touchdowns.
