The Detroit Lions announced Thursday that they’ve waived rookie DE JoJo Wicker to make room for OLB Eli Harold, who they acquired in a trade with the 49ers.
Wicker, 22, wound up signing on with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Arizona State back in May. He signed a three-year, $1.71 million contract that includes a $480,000 base salary for the 2018 season.
During his three-year college career at ASU, Wicker recorded 102 tackles, 32 tackles for a loss, 12.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, two recoveries and four pass defenses over the course of three seasons and 36 games.
