Lions Waive/Injured LB Brandon Chubb, Sign G Connor Bozick

The Detroit Lions announced Tuesday that they’ve officially signed RB Matt Asiata and G Connor Bozick to contracts and waived LB Brandon Chubb with an injury designation, per Tim Twentyman.

Should Chubb clear waivers on Wednesday, he would revert to the team’s injured reserve list.

Chubb, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Wake Forest back in May. He was, unfortunately, unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was later signed to the team’s practice squad.

Los Angeles elected to cut Chubb loose a few weeks into the regular season and he later signed on to the Lions’ practice squad. Chubb was cut loose to make room for Logan Thomas but was re-signed to the practice squad just a couple days later.

The Lions signed Chubb to a future/reserve contract this past January.

Chubb has yet to appear in an NFL game.
