Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports reports that LSU WR Ja’Marr Chase has informed the team that he will opt out of the 2020 college football season and enter the 2021 NFL Draft.
“It’s 100% happening,” a highly-placed source tells Dodd.
According to Dodd, Chase’s decision isn’t specifically related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, Dodd says the belief is agents have convinced him to leave for the NFL.
Alex Scarborough of ESPN has confirmed the news.
Chase is widely considered to be the top receiver prospect in next year’s draft class and a potential top-five pick.
During his college career at LSU, Chase caught 107 passes for 2,093 yards receiving and 23 touchdowns over the course of two seasons and 24 games.
