Marshawn Lynch Open To Re-Signing With Raiders If They’re Interested

Steve Wyche of NFL Media reports that free agent RB Marshawn Lynch is open to re-signing with the Raiders if they are still interested in bringing him back.

A report from last week mentioned that Lynch was planning to retire from the NFL. However, it appears as though he was opening to returning in the right circumstance.

Oakland lost Isaiah Crowell for the season on Tuesday, due to a torn Achilles, but reports have said that they’re likely to re-sign Doug Martin.

Jon Gruden reportedly had interest in re-signing Lynch, so it’s at least something to keep an eye on moving forward.

The Raiders used a first-round pick on Josh Jacobs last week, which means any veteran they bring in will have to at least split carries with him in 2019.

Lynch, 33, is a former first-round pick of the Bills back in 2007. He played three seasons in Buffalo before he was traded to the Seahawks.

Lynch decided to retire after six years with the Seahawks, but later came out of retirement last year and was traded to the Raiders. He’s currently in the final year of his contract and set to make a base salary of $6 million for the 2018 season.

Lynch is an unrestricted free agent.

In 2018, Lynch appeared in six games for the Raiders and rushed for 376 yards on 90 carries (4.2 YPC) to go along with 15 receptions for 84 yards receiving and three total touchdowns.
