NFC North Notes: Bears, Lions, Vikings

Bears

Bears HC Matt Nagy says “it’s kind of like a kid in a candy store” regarding how they’ll use free agent acquisition Cordarrelle Patterson in his offense.  

“You see what he did in New England with the jet sweeps, the arounds, the screens, and I think that that’s a good fit for him,” Nagy said via NBC Sports’ J.J. Stankevitz. “But for me, it’s kind of like a kid in a candy store. You get to kind of pick which candy you like best, put it together and figure out what he does best.”

Lions

  • According to Neil Stratton, the Lions have parted ways with Director of Pro Scouting Brendan Prophett. Prophett had been with the team since after the 2016 draft. 

Vikings

  • The Vikings will host UAB DE Jamell Garcia-Williams for a visit. (Darren Wolfson)
  • Minnesota is also hosting Oklahoma OL Cody Ford. (Wolfson)
  • Wolfson reports the team has done “plenty of homework” on Boston College OL Chris Lindstrom
  • Texas TE/FB Andrew Beck is visiting the Vikings Tuesday. (Dane Brugler)
  • Houston CB Isaiah Johnson, Alabama State OT Tytus Howard are also visiting Minnesota Tuesday. (Josh Norris)
  • Iowa S Amani Hooker and Nebraska RB Devine Ozigbo also visited the Vikings Tuesday. (Norris)
  • Ole Miss OT Greg Little also visited the Vikings on Tuesday. (Jordan Reid)
