According to Matt Barrows of The Athletic, the 49ers are looking at offensive tackles that are expected to be available late in the first round or early in the second.
They are also eying tight ends expected to be chosen in the middle rounds, which is interesting because the 49ers don’t currently have any selections in rounds 2-4. That, according to Barrows, signals that they might trade one of their first-round picks.
The team is also looking at a lot of defensive linemen and not just defensive tackles who could replace DT DeForest Buckner. GM John Lynchand HCKyle Shanahan and their scouts appear to be seeking those with the ability to play multiple spots along the defensive line. Safety is also on the team’s list of positions to watch.
Turron Davenport reports that West Virginia CBKeith Washington had video interviews with the Jets and Chargers. Other teams that have expressed the most interest include the Rams, Browns, Panthers, and Titans.
Matt Miller mentions the Seahawks as a team that would make sense for free agent QB Jameis Winston. However, Miller adds that they haven’t been willing to pay well for a backup quarterback.
