NFC Notes: Bears, Rams, Seahawks

Bears

Bears second-year QB Mitch Trubisky said he’s excited about new HC Matt Nagy’s offensive system.

“It’s just dynamic, it’s creative, and it’s also balanced,” Trubisky said, via NFL.com. “And that’s what you want. We’re going to get the ball out quick. We’re going to deceive the defenses, and we’re going to spread the field, and we’re going to get it all over to our playmakers. We’re going to be balanced. We’re going to play fast. We’re going to be dynamic. And we’re going to stretch the field every which way. I just feel like this offense is going to utilize my talents more and the players we have around me. Hopefully, we can just get it rolling from there. So I’m excited to keep diving in and keep working.

Rams

The Rams held the introductory press conference for new DL Ndamukong Suh on Friday.

Suh mentioned that he’s “definitely excited” about being in Los Angeles and looking forward to seeing what they can do in 2018.

“Definitely excited about the opportunities here,” Suh said, via TheRams.com. “Really, really fortunate just looking at the overall scheme. I think everybody looks at everything on paper, and I would say we’re in pretty good shape on paper. But we have a lot of things to prove.

Suh also said he’s excited to figure out how he and Aaron Donald will work together.

“First and foremost it’s going to start in OTAs and practices — understanding how [Donald] likes to rush, how I like to rush, how we play the run together,” Suh said. “And that’s when it’ll all unfold from there, to see how we’ll mesh together. And I think it’ll be an exciting time and process to get through that.

  • While the Rams released CB Kayvon Webster on Friday, Gary Klein reports that it’s still possible he could return to Los Angeles at some point.

Seahawks

  • Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports predicts that the Seahawks will trade Pro Bowl S Earl Thomas by the first day of the draft.
  • However, La Canfora says that Thomas will not net the Seahawks the first- and third-round picks they’re reportedly seeking for Thomas, but they should still be able to secure multiple picks for him.
  • The Seahawks are set to work out Oregon State inside linebacker Manase Hungalu. (Aaron Wilson)
