NFC Notes: Brian Flores, Jaquan Brisker, Bears, Giants, Vikings

Bears

Bears DB Jaquan Brisker said he felt the defense let the offense down, and they still gained enough points to win the game.

We let the offense down,” Brisker said, via Bears Wire. “I’m going to say it. We let the offense down, period. I feel like Caleb (Williams) and them, they gave us enough points to do what we had to do to win. The defense didn’t.

Giants

  • Giants QB Jaxson Dart recorded his eighth rushing touchdown and set the team record for quarterback rushing touchdowns in a single season. He also became the second rookie since Panthers QB Cam Newton to have multiple games with 200 passing yards and two rushing touchdowns.
  • Giants TE Theo Johnson was fined $6,488 for a late hit, and CB Andru Phillips was fined $7,292 for a hit on a defenseless player.

Vikings

Heading into the coaching carousel this offseason, Vikings DC Brian Flores is expected to generate interest around the league for a variety of roles. Minnesota HC Kevin O’Connell couldn’t say enough good things about Flores, and doesn’t expect him to leave unless he’s offered a head coaching job.

“Based upon my dialogue with him, and obviously the enthusiasm and the want to for us to get something done, I don’t [anticipate that],” O’Connell said, via ESPN’s Kevin Seifert. “But I also know we’re inside of days before our season ends. … I know he enjoys being here. …

“I know I’m excited about when … hopefully I can come to this podium and say he’s going to be here for as long as we can keep him here before another team makes him their head coach.”
