Buccaneers
- Jenna Laine of ESPN writes that the Buccaneers’ switch to a 3-4, one-gap pressure system under DC Todd Bowles will help maximize the team’s interior pressure with DT Gerald McCoy.
-
If the Buccaneers move on from McCoy this offseason, Laine mentions that there’s no reason they can’t accomplish more one-on-one matchups with DT Vita Vea, DE Jason Pierre-Paul, LB Lavonte David and LB Kwon Alexander.
-
According to Laine, the Buccaneers don’t have the cornerbacks on paper right now fit the system perfectly, but she says the flexibility of the new defense could help CBs Vernon Hargreaves and Carlton Davis.
Eagles

Redskins
New Redskins LBs coach Rob Ryan said the Packers’ decision to hire Kirk Olivadotti led to him reaching out to Washington about a job.
“I reached out,” Ryan said, via NBC Washington. “I’ve been a long admirer of them, and I kept my eye on them.”
Ryan added that he has a great deal of respect for Redskins HC Jay Gruden.
“So much respect for Jay Gruden for years,” Ryan said. “I’ve interviewed twice I’ve wanted to be there so bad. First time didn’t work out, but this time, I’m so happy to be joining him. Him and Greg [Manusky], these guys, they make you feel like you just want to go in there and do something and be a little part of their success.”
