NFC Notes: Cowboys, Packers, Vikings

Cowboys

• The Dallas Cowboys brought in free agent WR Sammie Coates for a tryout on Friday.
• However, Clarence Hill reports that the Cowboys will not be signing Coates to a contract, despite the workout.
• Cowboys placed TE Geoff Swaim on injured reserve. (NFLTR)
• Cowboys promoted RB Darius Jackson to their active roster.

Packers

• Todd Archer reports that the Packers tried to sign RB Darius Jackson off of the Cowboys’ practice squad but he opted to remain in Dallas.
• Packers promoted RB Lavon Coleman to their active roster. (NFLTR)
• Packers placed CB Will Redmond on injured reserve.

Vikings

Vikings contract-year LB Anthony Barr says that he and his agent haven’t had any communication with the team regarding an extension up to this point.

“I haven’t had any communication with my agent or anything regarding the Vikings really throughout the season, so my focus has been on the season and everything else is after,’’ Barr said, via the Pioneer Press.

Barr declined to say if he would have an interest in signing an extension with the Vikings and added he hasn’t “really thought about” the possibility of Minnesota using their franchise tag on him.
