NFC West Note: Cardinals, Rams, Seahawks

Cardinals

Cardinals rookie QB Josh Rosen finished his preseason debut completing 6-of-13 for 41 yards and no touchdowns or interceptions.
Regarding his play, Rosen says he did some good things and sees this as a step in the right direction.
โ€œI thought I did some good things, some bad things, but for the most part, it was a step in the right direction,โ€ Rosen said, via Kent Somers of AZCentral.com.

Rams

Rams HC Sean McVay told reporters that theyโ€™ve had โ€œincreased dialogueโ€ with DT Aaron Donald regarding a long-term extension and they feel positive about their direction of talks.

โ€œSame ball park, zip code. Thatโ€™s good,โ€ McVay said. โ€œWe talked about that. Thereโ€™s been. . . . Letโ€™s put it this way: Thereโ€™s increased dialogue. Thereโ€™s more. . . . We feel positive about the direction that these things are going. I think thereโ€™s a level of urgency thatโ€™s being displayed from us. I know that they know how much we value him and appreciate Aaron. Hopefully, weโ€™ll see some things change on that front sooner than later, but itโ€™s still kind of in the same boat.

โ€œI know thereโ€™s a huge level of urgency from our side in terms of how important he is, wanting to be proactive about trying to find a solution, get this thing done. Weโ€™ll see if we can get that situation handled.โ€

Seahawks

  • Josina Anderson, citing a league source, reports that thereโ€™s nothing new regarding a potential Earl Thomas trade with the Cowboys.
  • Andersonโ€™s source wondered why the Seahawks arenโ€™t budging in terms of their asking price for Thomas: โ€œHe doesnโ€™t want to report there I guess.โ€
  • When asked if thereโ€™s been any recent communication with Thomas, Carroll quickly said: โ€œNo.โ€ (Bob Condotta)
  • Carroll said Jamarco Jones has a serious ankle sprain plus some other damage to his ankle. (Bob Condotta)
