NFC West Notes: 49ers, Cardinals, Seahawks

49ers

  • 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said he has been told there’s a “real good chance” for QB Jimmy Garoppolo (ACL) to take part in OTAs next year. (Nick Wagoner)
  • Shanahan said he hasn’t thought about a potential extension for DL DeForest Buckner but said: “DeFo is someone we want to be a Niner for a long time.” (Matt Barrows) he said.

Cardinals

  • Cardinals HC Steve Wilks reiterated that Josh Rosen will be their starting quarterback for the final two games, even though there’s nothing to play at this point in the season. Wilks explained that he still believes Rosen will benefit from the work and sitting him would be the “mindset of giving up and quitting.” (Darren Urban)
  • Regarding how he’s handling the constant speculation about his coaching future, Wilks said: “I don’t really listen to the outside noise.” (Josh Weinfuss)
  • Cardinals CB David Amerson and OT Joe Barksdale are in the concussion protocol. (Katherine Fitzgerald)

Seahawks

  • Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said Monday that LB K.J. Wrighthas a shot” to play this week: “He’s going to practice this week, so we’ll see how he does. He looked fine last week in the amount of work that we gave him.” (John Boyle)
