49ers

• Both GM Trent Baalke and RB Frank Gore said a report that the 49ers told Gore he would have to earn his roster in training camp was “not true.” (Cam Inman)

Bears

• The Bears waived C Taylor Boggs with an injury settlement. (Brad Biggs)

Bills

• HC Doug Marrone confirmed that rookie OT Cyrus Kouandjio has been getting some work at guard in recent weeks.

“We feel very comfortable with the tackles that we have right now. We do have him playing some guard,” Marrone said, via Joe Buscaglia of WGR 550 Buffalo. “We did move him in there, so he’s playing guard on the scout team and we’re working on developing him.”

Chiefs

• S Eric Berry (ankle) was downgraded to “did not practice” on Thursday, which could be an indication he’ll be held out of Week 7.

Jets

• Jay Glazer of Fox Sports doesn’t believe GM John Idzik is on the hot seat this year, but the same can’t be said for HC Rex Ryan.

Titans

• RB Shonn Greene (hamstring) will miss his second straight game. (Adam Caplan)
