Art Briles
- Albert Breer writes that former Baylor HC Art Briles would be interested in being an NFL coach, but most likely wouldn’t accept a role below the coordinator level.
- However, Breer writes that the Baylor scandal will almost certainly impact his chances of securing a job with an NFL team, but he could still see him targeting an SEC coaching job as well.
- Briles has visited with a number of NFL teams in recent weeks.
Bears
Bears GM Ryan Pace mentioned thatย CB Kyle Fuller‘s knee injury wound up being more of an issue than they anticipated and could cost him some time.
“Heโs kind of had this nagging injury that we thought maybe he could play with, but as time went on, you could tell it was affecting his movement skills,” Pace said, via Adam Hoge of WGN Radio. “So heโs been getting evaluated over the last couple of days and Iโm optimistic thatโs something we can get ahold of to make him a better player.”
Lions
- Rob Demovsky reports that the Lions signed TEย Andrew Quarless to a one-year, $760,000 contract with no guarantees.
Redskins
Redskins HCย Jay Gruden said they plan to “take our time” with first-round WR Josh Doctson (Achilles).
Gruden did mention that Doctson is “progressing nicely”, but they don’t have a timetable for him right now.
โHeโs progressing nicely,โ Gruden said. โItโs exciting to see him sweat more. Heโs doing a little bit more work, and weโll take it gradually day-by-day. Not going to rush it, but weโre going to try and do more and more as weeks go by.โ
