NFL Notes: Bears, Bills, Buccaneers, Ravens

Bears

• Bears GM Ryan Pace said of QB Jay Cutler: “There’s a lot of scenarios right now. There’s a lot of different things that can happen.” (Zach Zaidman)
• Pace added that one quarterback option for them would be for Cutler to remain with the team. (Zach Zaidman)
• Pace mentioned that he expects to have “back and forth” with Alshon Jeffery’s representatives, but they need to see the market value for him get established. (Adam Jahns)
• In regards to Jeffery, Pace added: “There are certain instances where testing the market is a necessary part of the process.” (Adam Jahns)

Bills

• New Bills HC Sean McDermott told reporters that there’s no decision yet regarding whether they’ll pick up QB Tyrod Taylor’s option. (Chris Brown)
• Interestingly enough, McDermott said: “Cardale Jones is an option for us. We’ve went back and looked at his college tape and his practice tape last year.” (Joe Buscaglia)
• The Bills announced Wednesday that veteran DT Kyle Williams will return for the 2017 season. (Mike Rodak)

Buccaneers

• Buccaneers HC Dirk Koetter mentioned that they’ve met with free agent WR Vincent Jackson about potentially re-signing, but nothing is considered imminent as of now. (Alex Marvez)
• Rick Stroud believes Jackson is likely considering retirement.
• According to Koetter, they don’t have to make a decision regarding suspended RB Doug Martin right now. (Rick Stroud)
• Bucs GM Jason Licht said of their plans for K Roberto Aguayo: “We’ll continue to look for competition for him or he may become the competition for someone else.”  (Roy Cummings)
• Licht said in an ideal situation they would like to re-sign RB Jacquizz Rodgers. (Rick Stroud)
• Licht did say that the team has made an offer to free agent QB Mike Glennon but he plans to test the open market. (Roy Cummings)

Ravens

• Ravens HC John Harbaugh told reporters on Wednesday that he anticipates veteran WR Mike Wallace returning for the 2017 season. (Jamison Hensley)
• According to Harbaugh, the Ravens are working hard to re-sign free agent RT Ricky Wagner. (Jeff Zrebiec)
• Harbaugh did, however, say that they are in contract negotiations to re-sign free agent QB Ryan Mallett. (Jeff Zrebiec)
• Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Ravens are not expected to franchise DT Brandon Williams.
