NFL Notes: Bengals, Cowboys, Ravens, Redskins, Titans

Bengals

Coley Harvey of ESPN writes that it’s clear the Bengals view rookie QB A.J. McCarron as their backup plan at quarterback.

With this in mind, Harvey doesn’t see the Bengals trading him away at any point in the foreseeable future. Harvey adds that it will be interesting to see if he’s able to develop and if Andy Dalton continues to struggle.

Cowboys

Ravens

According to Jamison Hensley the Ravens were already interested in signing NT Haloti Ngata to a contract extension after the season.

However, now that Ngata is in the midst of an impressive 2014 season, Hensley believes it’s going to take much more money to get a long-term extension in place.

  • Hensley expects the Ravens to extend impending free agent S Will Hill a contract offer after the season.
  • Hensley doesn’t see the Ravens pursuing CFL WR Duron Carter.

Redskins

  • John Keim doesn’t believe QB Kirk Cousins‘ time in Washington is over and instead he could still help them if he can eliminate the interceptions and overcome his inability to overcome adversity.
  • Keim can’t see the Redskins moving DeAngelo Hall to safety next year and instead suggests that they target a “legitimate solution” at safety.

Titans

  • TE Delanie Walker has passed his final concussion tests and has been cleared to play in Week 12’s game. (Jim Wyatt)
