Browns

• Jason Cole of the Bleacher Report believes it would be “absurd” for the Buccaneers to fire HC Lovie Smith after one season with the team.
• Cole mentions that the Buccaneers do not want to be in a position where they are paying three coaches at the same time.

Dolphins

• HC Rex Ryan revealed that QB Geno Smith will start Thursday’s Week 7 game. (Jane McManus)

“You can look at Mike [Vick] to adding different things,” Ryan said. “But I think Geno’s the way to go right now, and that’s why I’m comfortable saying he’ll be our starter.”

Lions
